If you're the type of person who has an app for everything (Starbucks! The Library! Your fave drugstore! Coupons! A fireplace!), then you'll love today's post.

Today we are talking about apps that make doing your taxes easier.

Here's our 5 favorites:

1. ShoeBoxed

If you own a small business, or are an independent contractor with lots of miscellaneous expenses, consider ShoeBoxed. Using this app is easy: simply snap photos of your receipts via their app, and ShoeBoxed will upload your receipts to their easy online interface. From there, you can quickly digitally sort your paper receipts. This is a great alternative to the old shoebox of receipts.

The fee is $10-$50/month; but, as we discussed last week, you may be able to deduct this fee as a business-related expense!

2.
H&R Block App

Don't want to hire an accountant? Download this free tax primer app from H&R Block instead!

The H&R Block Tax Preparation app allows users to take pics of W-2s, prep their taxes and get their questions answered! The step-by-step process makes tax prep easy, and your info is always secure. Plus, you can switch between your phone, tablet, and computer to work at your convenience. And, if you ever have questions, you can get free, unlimited tax advice from the tax pros at H&R Block!

3. Tax Caster

Wondering if you'll be able to take that family vacation this year? The Tax Caster app will give you an idea of what to expect from Uncle Sam! Just enter some basic info and watch your refund add up. TaxCaster uses the same tax calculator found in TurboTax, and even gives users a recommendation of the best TurboTax program to use for filing. And, it's free!

4. TurboTax Mobile App

Speaking of Turbo Tax, do yourself a favor and download the free Mobile App from the tax titan. You'll seamlessly be able to photograph and import your forms into your phone, and Turbo Tax will guide you the rest. Once you're done, file with a swipe of your finger -- and be done!

5.
IRS2Go Mobile App

Once you've submitted your return, use this IRS app to check on the status of your tax refund. What's better than knowing your refund is on its way?

So put technology to work for you this year -- and make it your easiest tax return ever!
