The beginning of August is just a few days away, have you put in for your week off yet? Scheduled a summer vacation for the family? Or planned a week off from work in order to “work” around your house? The summer is coming to a close and an affordable option is to spend a week with your loved one or family on a Tri-State staycation. In the Tri-State area there are many attractions that some people may not know about or haven’t considered trying. EK Agency’s blog this week gives a few ideas that some of us may not be familiar with or haven’t experienced to incorporate into your Tri-State staycation.
Are you fascinated by neon or have been collecting signs for years like the American Pickers? One attraction that is not well known to many locals is the American Sign Museum. It has been rated one of the best “off the beaten path” places to visit. It is located in Camp Washington on 1330 Monmouth Street. Spend half a day of your Tri-State staycation taking a guided tour through the American Sign Museum and be amazed by the size and colors of their neon lights and see signs throughout history. And after a day at the American Sign Museum stop for some famous Camp Washington Chili.
During another day of your Tri-State staycation you can enjoy beautiful scenery and get some fresh air at Caldwell Nature Preserve. It is located on 430 North Bend Road in Cincinnati. Who would have thought that a gorgeous nature preserve would be in the middle of the city! The visitor reviews are excellent and some people visit Caldwell Nature Preserve when visiting from out of town. Caldwell has three miles of wooded nature-filled trails that is appointed a National Recreation Trail by the U.S. Department of the Interior. Visitor reviews boast about being in a giant forest-like atmosphere and seeing wildlife such and as deer, snakes and turtles. The Preserve is also said to have gorgeous water runoffs over rocks after a good rain. This obscure place is a sanctuary where a family can explore and experience together.
And for an evening activity for your Tri-State staycation catching a performance at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is a fabulous way to spend the evening after a dinner at one of downtown Cincinnati’s hot new restaurants. I have experienced the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and myself along with many other reviewers agree that the actors and actresses do an incredible job at giving you a true Shakespeare performance in a small, comfortable environment. The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company can be found at 719 Race Street. The ticket prices are reasonable as well; Friday and Saturday evening performances are $35 or less for seniors and students. They also offer preview times during the day for only $20; be the first to see a new production! If you don’t know Shakespeare give it a try. The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will keep you coming back.
EK Agency thought to bring some fun Tri-State staycation ideas to their clients and friends. The people of EK Agency hopes everyone has a safe and fun rest of the summer! See you next week…
